Registered education savings plan (RESP)
Introduction
Many parents or students invest in a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) to save for post-secondary education. Once you鈥檙e enrolled in college or university, you can withdraw these funds to help pay for your tuition.
Step-by-step instructions
To withdraw from a RESP, students usually need to submit a confirmation of enrollment letter. The enrolment letter can be obtained through Okanagan College students' myOkanagan account.
Here鈥檚 how!
- Log in to your myOkanagan student account
- Go to Self-service > Student tab > Student records
- Click on 鈥淩equest enrollment verification鈥
- Enter the term and number of copies; Click continue
- Fill in the required information; Click continue
- Submit request
You鈥檒l receive an email with a PDF attachment. You can also check the status of your request under 鈥淪tudent records鈥.

What if my RESP requires the registrar鈥檚 office to fill out a form with signatures?
Any forms requiring a signature or a school seal can be emailed to, registration@okanagan.bc.ca. Remember to include your Okanagan College student number in your email. Alternatively, you can bring the form in person to the registrar's office or campus administration office
Important note: Some forms might ask if you are 鈥渁ttending鈥 the course or program. We can鈥檛 fill out these forms until after the first two weeks of classes.
My RESP organization is also requesting a statement of tuition. Where can I find that?
Students can view their term statement through their myOkanagan account.
- Log in to your myOkanagan account.
- Click on Self-service > Student > Student account > Account summary by term.
- Students can also request a receipt or statement by emailing registration@okanagan.bc.ca or by visiting the office of the registration of administration office in person.
Can my parents get what is required for the RESP鈥檚?
Unfortunately, unless there is 鈥淐onsent to Release Information鈥 on file submitted by the student we are unable to provide documentation to anyone other than the student.
Once you receive your documentation for your RESP, it鈥檚 your responsibility to submit the required documents to your RESP provider.
